As we’ve playtested, shopped around, and prepared to launch our crowdfunding campaign for Road Warriors, we've gotten some questions. You might say they’ve been asked frequently. So we wanted to take this space and time right now to answer these frequently asked questions here in an easy-to-read blog post.

Q: Can I play this game even if I'm not funny?
A: First of all, believe in yourself, you probably are funny. But even if you aren’t, do you need to be able to cast spells to play a wizard in D&D? We believe that most comedy comes from characters, context, and scenarios. We’re pretty sure that you’ve laughed and made others laugh playing other TTRPGs that aren’t even about comedians. Road Warriors gives you all the tools to have hilarious adventures where the laughs come naturally.

Q: What system are you using?
We’re using a very heavily modified and somewhat simplified version of Forged in the Dark. You roll a number of dice equal to the skill you’re trying to use. Based on the results, you either achieve what you wanted or don’t, and complications result in any case. Also there’s clocks that fill and empty to represent your progress towards your goals.

Q: What do you even do in this game?
A: In the most general sense you attempt to win over various crowds with humor and charm. In a more specific sense you travel around the country trying to put on shows. You encounter strange new places (comedy venues) and people, spend a lot of time trying to fix various problems that will make your show harder, and then you perform. Then you travel to the next place, hopefully a stronger and more competent comedian, if a little less emotionally stable.

Q: This sounds awesome I want to play!
A: That’s not a question, rhetorical amalgamation of people we’ve talked to over the months, but you can absolutely play right now!
